James McQuillan was born and raised on a cattle farm in Echuca Victoria and is one of three sons to Jack & Jo McQuillan.

In the prime of his life back in 2014 life took a sharp turn for James. He was involved in an on-field collision playing the game he grew up loving in Aussie Rules Football for the Albury Tigers. Medically diagnosed with quadriplegia he is forced to spend the next 300 plus days in hospital and rehab - life as he knew it was about to change.

James openly shares with us the journey from a fit, active and healthy young man in his early 20’s, to learning to live in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. He opens up about the challenges of navigating simple daily tasks like dressing himself, and putting on his shoes, through to pursuing career, relationships and sports.
